On 8.25.11 around 9:30-10:00 pm Jorgen started to get a stuffy nose. Then it turned into a sad cry, a cry I have never heard before. I was worried. Colter had gone to work and wasn’t going to come home until about 2 am. I rocked her to sleep and she slept for about 20 minutes and then woke up screaming. I kept trying to suction out her nose but couldn’t get anything. Luckily I was talking to my friend Natalie and she gave me a ton of good suggestions on how to help her. I put her in her bouncer and put her in the bathroom while the shower was running. That really did help her breathe. She ended up sleeping for about 30 minutes but again woke up screaming. I was starting to get really worried. I kept talking to Natalie and decided to take her temperature. It was 99.2, so it was a low-grade fever. Poor girl just couldn’t calm down. I finally called Colter at midnight and asked if he could come home. Once he got home we gave her some Tylenol and a bottle. She did not sleep good at all! We decided we would just try to make it through the night and call the doctor in the morning.
This was the next morning…she was acting a little better but I could tell she still wasn’t feeling well.
Hanging out at the doctor office. He checked her lungs and ears, and they both looked good. He looked at her throat and said it was red. Dang. She weighed 10 lbs 13 oz, and he was really impressed with her weight gain.
She was really good for the doctor, she kept smiling.
She fell asleep on the way home and slept for a few hours. Little Jorgen doesn’t feel good! Look at her rosey little cheeks.
She is finally feeling better. It is so sad to see her hurting. I am so thankful Natalie stayed up with me to help me know what might help her. What a blessing.
