Adoption - What a Blessing!

My sweet sister and her husband have completed their profile for adoption! If you know of anyone that would be willing to give Tyler and Kira the opportunity of being parents, please let me know. You can go to www.itsaboutlove.org to check out their profile. I have attached some pictures and also their letter to the birth mother.

Good luck Kira and Tyler...I love you Lotts!

Dear Birth Mother,
We start this letter completely appalled and struggle as we search for the words that may express the feelings and thoughts that we hold in our hearts. Firstly, we want to convey our appreciation for your bravery and strength you must obtain to start this challenging and emotional process of adoption for your child. Secondly, we want to express our gratitude and how thankful we are that you are taking the time to read our well-thought out letter. We cannot imagine the vast amount of letters that you must be coming across; we can only hope and pray that you will take the time to read ours.
Looking from your perspective, I am sure you want to learn and read a little bit about us. Our names are Tyler and Kira. We kind of have an interesting or actually embarrassing story on how we met each other. First of all, we must give you a small background on our odd situation. Prior to our meeting, we both had quite serious relationships going on. Tyler was officially engaged to his childhood sweetheart. She had the ring, the wedding colors were picked out, and wedding was on its way! Now for Kira, it was not quite that far. She had a serious boyfriend that had picked out a ring and she could not wait to put this beautiful ring on her finger. Kira and her boyfriend had told their parents that they were planning to spend the rest of their lives together, but it was not quite official….thank heavens! For unknown reasons, these previous relationships that we had did not feel right and all warm and fuzzy like they were suppose to. Both of us, Tyler and Kira, decided to call off our wedding and engagement. Man, that was not the highlight of our lives! Tyler and Kira went on with their daily and busy schedules. Neither of us were on the look out for anyone to date. Little did we know we had the same evening activities? This was going to Worlds Gym for our workouts. Tyler was with a friend lifting weights at one end of gym while Kira was at the other end running on an elliptical. I, Kira, could see Tyler looking across the way in my direction and to be honest, I thought he was very good looking, but a bit of a meat head. His good looks encouraged me to run faster and faster which resulted in more and more sweat. I did not expect him to come over and talk to me. Excitingly, he did come over and say hello; little did I know this was completely out of his character. Well, after a few attempts to have Tyler convince me to go out…I did! What a great decision that was! We only dated a few short months before we realized that each other were ‘The One' that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with for eternity. We have been married just over two years now and have experienced some tasks that most do not tackle until later on in life. Which are some struggles that come with one spouse having a disease. This leads to the next question you may have. What lead us to the miracle of adoption?
I, Kira, have a disease known as Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a result of this disease, I am to be on medications that prevent damage to my joints or body. Being on these medications prevents us from having a biological child at this time. We are so blessed with the knowledge and advancements of modern medication and for an extremely intelligent physician. I believe that with this disease present in my life it has blessed my family as well as myself. I also believe that I have a positive attitude about living with this disease. And trust me, this situation in my life is just a petite bump in the road and it will not stop or slow me up from being the best mother and wife that I can be.
Some of the activities that Tyler and I enjoy together are simply being active and getting outside as much as possible. Some may include camping, motorbikes, playing sports, basically anything that we can do together even if it's playing Phase 10 with my mother indoors. We are so hopeful and full of prayer that one day we may be able to enjoy these playful adventures with your child. We can not wait for the simple things either, such as being there for the baby as he/she wakes up in the morning. Just to be the one to comfort and love your baby unconditional.
We are so thrilled and grateful that you have taken the time to read our letter. Again, we commend you for your great amount of courage and selflessness. We pray that the day may come and we may have the privilege of meeting you. We would feel so lucky and blessed to have your child in our lives.
Thank you again, and we can not thank you enough for reading our letter as we hoped to pass on our compassion and love. We truly look forward to the day when we can get to know you on a personal level.
Much Love,
Tyler and Kira

Brent Jadon

On October 3rd my not-so-little brother turned 18! He is not only my brother, but he is my FaVoRiTe brother! I still remember the day he was born because I made him a Birthday Cake in my Easy-Bake Oven! From the day he came home we had a bond. That bond became even stronger when shortly Addie came. Kira and Addie were buddies, and Jadon and I were buddies. When BJ was younger, he would call me NaNa. About that same time Titanic came out, when I was at the theater watching it there was a little boy that was drowning and he was yelling NaNa. It made me bawl, I felt like I couldn't save my little Jadon.

A few memories:
  • When BJ was younger he would always sleep with me. But he HAD to shower before he got in bed! I am sure there was a time or two that he just got in the shower to get his hair wet. Addie would always sleep with Kira. I remember my parents making the two kids go up to their beds, and they would sneak down to our bedrooms.
  • BJ has always loved tractors. When BJ was little he would walk around the farm and take off all of the tire caps (I think they are called valve-stem caps??). That was a secret though.
  • BJ and Addie also loved to go over to Grandma and Grandpa Lotts. They lived next door. They thought Grandma made the best Spagetti-O's. Grandpa Lott loved BJ. Grandpa gave BJ a little "Future Missionary" tag when they left on a mission. BJ would wear it every Sunday. One day BJ and Addie went over to Grandma and Grandpa's to tell them we got a puppy, a shizu(spelling?) But he told them that we got a shit-stain, because that is what dad called it!
  • Another memory...we call him Hammer Head. This is why: when he was little we were all hanging out in the family room and we had an empty box. I don't remember where the box came from, but Jadon wanted to use the hammer and put a hole in it. He started pounding. He made a hole in the box and the hammer stuck in the box. Jadon kept pulling on it to get it out, and it flew out and the other end of the hammer (where you can remove nails) hit him right in the forehead. If you look at his head, you can see two little scars. It wasn't funny then, but we laugh about it now.
  • Just a few months ago Jadon was making fun of some guy that had french-tips on his nails. BJ was telling us this funny story about this guy, and he said, "the guy had french-dips on his nails." We laughed...he is so cute:)
  • Jade's hair grows really fast, so one summer we decided we were going to cut his hair. It was clogging up the clippers, so we asked my mom to come help us. She couldn't get it to work either, so she took off the guard. She put it up to his head, and OPPS...it went straight to the scalp! Needless to say, we had to cut all of his hair off. He was bald. To this day we still call him "Butchy Beej." And since then, my mom is not allowed to cut his hair:)
  • When BJ was little we liked to tease him. For some reason he liked to paint his toenails John Deere Green. Well, I guess us girls thought it was funny and we made up a song. "Hi, my name is Ja-Deana. I pinch, I scratch, I pull hair......" Everytime we would sing this he would flip-out!!! It would make him so so mad...and to this day if you sing it, you can see that it bothers him. But we only teased him because we love him!! ♥♥♥

Jade...I am so glad you are my brother! I wouldn't trade you for anything. I love you Lotts! I admire you in so many ways. When you bore your testimony last month, I couldn't help but love you even more. You are amazing. You are such a gentleman, and I know that a lot of people in the ward feel the same way. I love your big blue eyes, I love the way you always love me..no matter what, and I love that you are protective of your sisters. Our family would not be complete without you. I hope you had a good birthday Jado! I love you Butch!

Here are a few pictures of my Favorite Brother. I wish we had digital cameras when he was little, because he was such a chunk! He was, and still is adorable!

Guardian Angels!

Cinnamon, Oreos, a granola bar and some chips are on top of the bedroom window.

Might be a little breezy at night!

The bathroom door is shut, the door is tight at the top and this much gap at the bottom.

What a mess...Do you see the fork in the blinds?

This is as far as the front door will shut.

Do you think the frame is bent?

Colter is just heart-broken about this trailer. He built it, and it is not insured.

Notice the axles...

Mom...I promise that the bed was made...
All cupboards were open, and empty. The fridge and freezer did not open. In fact, it didn't even break an egg!
The package of paper plates, a cup and a decoration went out this window and was found in the field.

They were getting ready to pull the trailer over. Colter ran to the trailer once when it was tipping back over thinking that it might hurt his pickup.
Honestly...how would this not take the pickup with it?
Can you see the blinds sticking out of the broken window on the slide?
You can see that the red trailer helped keep the trailer from going all of the way over.
This is what I saw when I got there.

My heart stopped at 1:08 am October 1, 2009. We had been planning a trip with our friends to Moab. We planned to leave 10-1-09 at 5:30 am. The day before was busy getting everything packed and ready to go. At about 9:30 Colter is hooking the trailers up. Everything is packed and it was put away nicely.. We were planning to drive the Dodge, and then pull our camp trailer and then another trailer behind that with our Teryx and our friend Nic's Ranger. Colter was having problems getting the weight distributed in the right places so Nic came over to help. At midnight they were still doing "test runs." I was lying in bed listening to them as they would come home and do some adjustments and then out for another "test run." At about 1:00 they left for the last "test run." At 1:08 my phone rang. It was Colter. My heart stopped. I knew something was wrong. I answered and he said "We're not going, the trip is off. I dumped the trailer in the ditch." I kept asking if he was okay, and I could tell he was upset. I jumped out of bed and grabbed a sweatshirt and one shoe. I was running to the garage when I noticed that I would probably need my other shoe. So I ran back, got the shoe and noticed the camera sitting on the bar waiting to be the last items packed in the morning. As soon as I got to the wreck I started bawling. It was freezing, in the 30's. I had just got out of the shower a few hours ago and my hair was still kind of wet. I got out of the car and ran to Colter, and he kissed me and at that moment I knew that he was okay. I also asked Nic if he was alright. Then I looked at the trailers and wondered, How did it not flip the pickup? I started taking pictures. Colter had already called his buddy that works for Wolford's to come tow it. He looked at me and asked if he should call 911. At that moment I realized that I had called State Farm Insurnace the day before, 9-30-09 and put insurance on the camp trailer and Teryx just to be safe as we drove to Moab. Our insurance policy was effective at 12:01 AM October 1, 2009. The accident happened at 1:08 AM October 1, 2009. So of course, we called 911 and did the whole routine with the officers. I called my mom at 1:24 bawling. She asked if she needed to come down. I feel so bad for waking them up, but I was freaking out! We finally made it home with all of our wrecked trailers, etc at 3:00 AM. At this point I was numb, not just cold, but numb. Colter looked at me and said "I think my adrenaline is gone because I am freezing now."
I am so so thankful that my husband and Nic were not hurt. There is no reason why the weight of two trailers and two UTV's didn't flip the pickup. The pickup has a small scratch on the back bumper. That is it! I think we are so lucky that this happened about a mile from our house instead of on I15 and a 100 miles from home! It is also a blessing that there was nobody else on the roads at 1:00 in the morning. Colter said that once it started whipping, he knew he couldn't stop it. He said that he just had to wait for everything to come to a stop. At 10:24 PM I had text my mom and said "If the trailer flips the pickup...I love you. It isn't looking 2 good." Odd how I knew something is going to happen, but I thought it was going to happen when we actually left for Moab.
Needless to say, we didn't make it to Moab today. It makes me sick to look at our wrecked trailers, but it honestly means nothing to me because I still have my husband today.
Colter, I love you! I am so thankful that you were able to come home this morning. I am so thankful that those Guardian Angels stayed up past their bedtime!
